What is it like to live or work in the city that never sleeps? How does New York tackle challenges like gentrification, car dependence, the housing crisis, or public space management? This discussion will explore what works in New York, where it falls short, and why people love it. What shapes the character and appearance of this iconic city? And what can Prague learn from it? The evening will include perspectives from guests who know both New York and Prague well, along with a reflection on the work of architectural critic Michael Sorkin and his book What Goes Up: The Right and Wrongs to the City, recently published in Czech translation by IPR Prague.
