Do we need to use primarily new resources in contemporary architecture and design, or can we successfully manage with recycled materials? In the last Rethink Architecture lecture of 2024, we will look at how regionally sourced and natural materials have already been successfully used in the Czech Republic and other countries, and to what extent we can apply a re-use approach to projects of different scales. We will discuss upcycling, conversions and reconstructions, and also examine some of the successful projects. The lecture will host representatives of the German architectural studio b+ and architects from the Czech studios ruina office and NovaVita.
