The energy and inner drive of students played a key role in the fight for freedom and democracy during the Velvet Revolution. They mobilized society and informed the public throughout the country about the unfolding revolution. Soundtrack of Prague: Freedom is an audiovisual essay created for the 35th anniversary that captures the November events in the city center and places them in the context of historical materials, including unique photographs and aerial shots of the entire city. It was created by Pierre Urban, who in 2024 compiled it from archival film materials, photographs, and maps. After spending dozens of hours studying the materials, he decided to dedicate both the essay and this year's program to students and young people who have fought for justice, democracy, and freedom—in November 1989 and at other pivotal moments in history.
