How will the area around the confluence of the Berounka and Vltava rivers be transformed? Prague has long been planning to establish a suburban park in this area—the first of its kind in the Czech Republic. It is intended not only to serve as a recreational space for Prague residents but, more importantly, to be one of the tools for mitigating the impacts of climate change. What will such a park look like? And what requirements must it meet? On 1 August 2022, an international landscape architecture and urban planning competition was announced to design a solution for this area, and we will now learn who the winner is. Come see the announcement of the competition results and listen to a panel discussion where we will introduce you to the future vision for the area.
The project “Suburban Park as a Tool for Mitigating the Impacts of Climate Change” is funded by the EEA and Norway Grants 2014–2021 under the CZ-ENVIRONMENT program.
