accessible CAMP

We believe that architecture and the city concern us all. That is why we want to be a place where truly anyone can come—regardless of age, experience, or individual needs. As a subsidized organization of the City of Prague, we view accessibility as a natural and integral part of our work. We design our programs, tours, and exhibitions so that people feel comfortable here and can participate in the way that suits them best.

Explore CAMP on your phone or computer. The multimedia guide with information about CAMP is available in Czech and Czech Sign Language with Czech subtitles.

where to find us

We are located in the grounds of the Emmaus Abbey, just a few steps from Charles Square and Prague's Embankment. You can find us in one of the "Prager's Cubes", named after the prominent Czech architect Karel Prager, who also designed the New Stage of the National Theater and the former Federal Assembly building.

site tours

We regularly organize tours of the Prager's Cubes. The program includes a visit to the first floor of the building, which can be accessed by stairs or elevator. A small elevator is available in the building (door: 70 cm, cabin: 93 × 110 cm). You can use the elevator with a manual wheelchair; space is limited for larger or electric wheelchairs. Our staff will be happy to assist you if needed.

Capacity for visitors in wheelchairs is limited to a maximum of 2 people per tour.

for deaf visitors

We strive to adapt our program for deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors. We therefore provide Czech Sign Language interpretation for selected events. We also use transcription, both professional and machine-generated. Many visitors will also appreciate that part of our facility is equipped with an induction loop.

Czech Sign Language

For selected events, we offer translation into Czech Sign Language (CzSL). Selected videos from our archive also include interpretation.

induction loop

The venues are equipped with an induction loop (the amphitheater and the White Hall). For better sound quality, switch your hearing aids to T-coil mode. In the Black Hall, you can use an individual induction loop. You can obtain one from the staff.

transcription

For selected events, we provide professional live transcription. For other events, you can use machine transcription in the Beey app. Open the app on your mobile device to follow what is being said at the event in real time. You can view the transcript using the QR code displayed on the screen before the event begins, or via this link. If needed, you can also contact our staff.

for blind visitors

We use tactile aids—ranging from various maps and floor plans to more complex models. Right at the entrance to CAMP, you’ll find a tactile model of Prager’s Cubes. Some information is available in Braille. We are constantly working to expand our selection of tactile materials for you.

Braille

Selected information about CAMP and the current exhibition is available in Braille and large-print format. You can find it at the information desk.

tactile maps

We have tactile maps and materials available—such as railway and metro maps (including Line D) or maps of future development. We are also gradually preparing maps of tram lines and Prague neighborhoods.

tactile models

We regularly print tactile models for tours of Prague buildings and for our exhibitions, which are available to visitors here. Thanks to these, you can explore both famous and lesser-known Prague buildings up close. In addition to the model of Prager’s Cubes, you can also view models of the New Stage of the National Theater, the Drn building on Národní třída, the Dancing House, the Hvězda residential complex, and the Czech Radio Studio House.

dog assistance

Your dogs are welcome, not just assistance animals. A water bowl is available in the café.

for international visitors

We’re here for international visitors as well. We regularly host events in English. As part of the Urban Talks series, we invite leading figures in global architecture and urban planning. We prepare an international guide within the Bloomberg Connects app. You can use the Beey machine translation tool.

Bloomberg Connects

You can plan your visit and explore our exhibitions and building right on your phone using the Bloomberg Connects app. There you’ll find multimedia tours and additional content related to our program. The app also takes you behind the scenes of current exhibitions, offers an archive of past ones, and guides you through the modernist building from the 1970s where we’re located.

Tours are available in Czech and English, with the option to translate into more than 40 other languages.

AI translation

The Beey app allows you to choose between the original language transcription and an automatic translation into English (if the event is in Czech) or into Czech (if it is in English). This means it can also be used by international visitors or those who prefer to follow the content in Czech or English during the event.

You can access the translation using the QR code that will be displayed on the screen before the event begins, or via this link.

regular program

Admission to CAMP, including the exhibition, café, bookstore, and reading room, is free, and no ticket is required. The vast majority of our events are also free, but you must reserve a ticket on the GoOut portal. We always describe the available accessibility measures for each event in our program.
