Jeanne Gang is one of the most influential architects in America. Studio Gang, which she founded in 1997, is based in Chicago and has offices in New York, San Francisco and Paris. They work on designs of various scales and typologies that often transcend conventional architectural boundaries. Their project scopes range from developing more resilient materials to building stronger communities. Last year, they won a competition to expand Chicago O'Hare International Airport. When completed, Jeanne Gang's Vista Tower will be the third tallest building in the world designed by a woman. Other notable Studio Gang projects include the Aqua Tower in Chicago, the Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education and Innovation in New York City, and the Bengt Sjostrom Starlight Theater in Rockford, to name a few. Jeanne Gang wrote a book, Reveal, about Studio Gang's projects and work, and a publication, Reverse Effect: Renewing Chicago's Waterways, where she presents a greener future for the Chicago River.
