Why are large, multi-storey wooden buildings not being built in the Czech Republic? What does current technology enable us to do, and what is allowed by Czech legislation? Should it be mandatory that a certain percentage of buildings be made of wood? And what challenges will come in the next few years for designers, contractors and the whole field of architecture? These questions are the focus of the 17th annual festival of the Wooden Buildings Salon (Salon dřevostaveb). Carl Bäckstrand, architect and director of the internationally successful Swedish studio White Arkitekter, has accepted an invitation to speak at the festival's opening in CAMP, presenting White Arkitekter's vision that all architecture will be climate neutral by 2030 thanks to their intelligent design.
