This exhibition aimed to show the future development and transformation of the Rohan Island area located on the right bank of the Vltava near Karlín and Libeň and across the river from Holešovice. Several large public and private projects are planned or already underway on the 88 hectares of the former Vltava island and adjacent land and will transform the area into a new Prague neighbourhood. A major public investment is the Rohan Park project, which will take up most of the land, and in the event of floods, serve as an important part of the city’s flood protection measures. The largest private investment is the Rohan City residential and administrative complex, which borders on several other developer projects (Karlínské výhledy, Rustonka, Invalidovna apartment building, Sokolovská-Rohanské nábřeží office complex, Cross Point Karlin, and Port Karolína). The exhibition presented this new development in detail.

As customary at CAMP, visitors learned most from unique, large projected screenings. Using detailed data analysis, this presentation examined the objective impacts and benefits of developing the entire Rohan Island area. The screenings also included the video essay “Seven Minutes on Rohan Island”, which presented the area from the perspective of people currently making use of it. The audio-visual component of the exhibition was complemented by touch screens that provided detailed information about individual construction projects. The large physical model of this part of the city displayed in the middle of the exhibition hall let visitors clearly and easily examine the position of Rohan Island in the context of its surroundings. In keeping with tradition, a summary of all the most important data and information was available in a free catalogue. The exhibition was also accompanied by a full programme of events for both young and old, including regular guided tours throughout the entire duration of the exhibition.

The exhibition represented the culmination of extensive interdisciplinary work between individual departments at the Prague Institute of Planning and Development— with key authorities and expertise in land use planning, transportation infrastructure, municipal strategy and development, and spatial information and archiving.
