The Malostranské Embankment in the area between Kampa Park and the Liechtenstein Palace represents a unique, more intimate space in the tourist-heavy center of Prague. However, the current access routes from Na Kampě Square are cramped and confusing—the northern access route along the park is used primarily by cars and feels more like an entrance to a parking lot. The area beneath the last arch of Charles Bridge serves as a parking lot, while the second-to-last arch remains boarded up and unused. Despite these shortcomings, the embankment itself offers a pleasant place to relax with a view of the Vltava River and seating in the shade of the tree-lined promenade.

The goal of the proposed set of improvements is to enhance accessibility and increase the recreational value of the entire area. The proposal calls for new cultural and social uses of the spaces beneath the bridge arches, the expansion of the playground, and the creation of seating areas on the renovated riverfront. The transformation also includes replacing the three existing unsightly boat docks with a single continuous dock, which, in addition to serving river transportation, will also function as a recreational area connecting both parts of the riverfront.
