This urban planning study presents a vision for the development of the Botič riverbed and its immediate surroundings, with an emphasis on restoring the natural relationship between the city and the river itself. It focuses primarily on architectural and urban planning aspects, seeks to achieve ideal linear accessibility along the river, and explores ways to enhance the use of public space in the surrounding area. The purpose of this document was to define a vision for the development of the Botič riverbed and its banks, recognizing the significance and potential of this natural feature that runs through a large part of Prague 10; this vision will serve as the basis for decision-making regarding planning, investment, use, protection, and management.

The vision of the urban planning study is to restore the natural relationship between the city and the stream so that they once again become inextricably linked. The goal of the planned modifications is to restore life to the stream, rehabilitate it, and enhance its appeal. In some locations, this goal could be achieved, for example, by creating a longitudinal green transportation corridor and enhancing the area’s recreational value through the creation of spaces for rest and relaxation, which could also be used to host various social events. At the same time, the Urban Planning Study places great emphasis on vegetation, landscaping, and flood control measures for the stream and its immediate surroundings.

The Botič Urban Planning Study focuses on the section of the stream between Perucká Street and Kozinovo Square (excluding the section flowing through the inaccessible grounds of the Michelské Heating Plant). This section flows through the territory of the Prague 10 district and extends into the neighboring districts of Prague 2, Prague 4, and Prague 15.
