This concept study focuses on designing a citywide connection in the section that follows on from the Stromovka Waterfront Concept Study and ends at Podbabská Street. The layout of this street is set to undergo a complete transformation in connection with the planned construction of a tram line to Suchdol.
The main objective of this study is to improve conditions for pedestrians and cyclists, enhance cross-sectional connectivity within the area, and explore options for extending the waterfront route as a basis for negotiations with landowners.
The area around Papírenská Street and Císařský mlýn represents a key development area for Prague 6 within the Troja Basin, with high potential for transformation. The proposal builds on the approved Concept for Císařský Island and its Surroundings and focuses on creating a left-bank promenade connecting key points in the area, such as the development site of the former paper mills and the historic wastewater treatment plant.
The entire project will be coordinated with related investments, particularly the Revitalization and Flood Protection of the Troja Basin project. The study was approved by the Prague City Council at the end of 2025.
