The Lihovar na Smíchově project is transforming a former industrial site into a modern neighborhood. The first phase, featuring 240 apartments, amenities, and a school, is complete. In total, the project will include 550 apartments, offices, and a large food market. Two preserved landmarks serve as reminders of the site’s past: the former brewhouse, which now houses David Černý’s Musoleum gallery, and the chimney, which will be transformed into a unique glass-enclosed observation deck. The new apartment buildings pay homage to the neighborhood’s industrial heritage with brick facades and bottle motifs. One of these motifs, in the form of a giant sculpture, forms the railing of the balconies.
