Design visualization of the Forest Park
Author: PROJEKTOR s.r.o. architectural StudioDesign visualization of the Forest Park
The main objective of the design, based on the urban planning study, is to create walking loops within the area. These loops, which will serve as nature trails, will be themed—fauna and flora along the Botič River, people and water, environmental protection, and, last but not least, a tribute to Olga Havlová, a nature lover after whom the entire forest park is named. In the heart of the area, we propose a pavilion that serves as the starting point for all sections of the nature trail. It provides shelter from sudden inclement weather, and its location at the intersection of all paths ensures the necessary social oversight for the proper use of this space.
The structure also serves as a large signpost for navigating to the individual sections of the loop. By cleverly looping the trail, visitors can adjust the length and theme of their walk according to their abilities and mood. The flora trail is represented by a restored orchard in the southeastern part of the area; the fauna trail is situated in the southwestern part and includes, among other things, a dog park, an insect hotel, fishing spots, and preparations for connecting a future trail in the riverbed and footbridges across the millstream. The “People and Water” circuit is located to the northeast, where we propose a recreational clearing with a barbecue area, as well as informal natural exercise and play elements. These three circuits represent the main, visible features of the area. However, there is also one “secret” circuit that completes the four-leaf clover with a branch of the Botič River and its meander. This is a circuit with a conceptual depth that may not appeal to everyone. This is reflected in the design of the access path, which crosses the water via stepping stones. On the island within the meander, a handful of visitors will discover a stone meditation circle with the same floor plan as the pavilion, as well as a commemorative plaque or work of art representing the legacy of Olga Havlová. The same location will also highlight the themes of the environment and sustainability for future generations. This second—natural—pavilion will be subtly complemented by colorful birdhouses hanging from the trees.
