The complex will be built on the banks of the Vltava River along Vodácká Street by expanding the existing slalom course and redeveloping the surrounding area. Compared to the existing canal, it will offer a wide range of new opportunities for the general sporting public, as well as spectator facilities, including new grandstands. For professional athletes, the planned construction will mean improved training conditions. Last but not least, it will also serve as a training ground for emergency response teams. Thanks to its multifunctionality, the complex will be fully operational year-round.

The Prague Water Sports Park is being built on a site with a rich history—it is here that World Championships and World Cup races have been held for decades. “The new course in Troja will strengthen the Czech Republic’s position on the world map of whitewater slalom.

“The course will offer excellent conditions for training and hosting international events. “If everything goes according to plan, construction should begin in 2026 and could be completed in 2028. The budget is set to meet modern standards and sustainability requirements,” adds Jiří Rohan, the project’s initiator and a representative of USK Prague.
