In October 2025, Dopravní podnik hl. m. Prahy (the Prague Public Transit Company) handed over the construction site to the winning contractor—a consortium of STRABAG and OHLA ŽS—for the complete renovation of the Flora metro station.
The main scope of the complete renovation will include:
As part of this extensive investment project valued at 1.293 billion crowns, Flora will become the 49th barrier-free station in the Prague Metro.
Construction work will proceed in phases and will last a total of nearly 29 months. Starting February 2, 2026, Flora station will be closed for approximately ten months, in part to replace the escalators. It is expected to reopen around the end of November or beginning of December 2026. Both DPP (the Prague Public Transit Company) and the contractors anticipate that the elevators in the new barrier-free section will become operational during the first quarter of 2028.
