The Prague 2 City Hall plans to first build an outdoor sports field on the land west of the Sokol building in Riegrovy Sady and subsequently construct a multipurpose hall designed for sports and cultural events.

In November 2025, the city hall succeeded in having the selected plots of land transferred to the district’s administration and in establishing transparent rules for the future hosting of events. The project calls for the modernization and expansion of the sports areas and emphasizes their multipurpose use. The complex will feature facilities for children of various age groups, a small sports field suitable for soccer or basketball, and a smaller fitness zone that parents in particular will appreciate. The visual design of the playground is based on natural motifs—the play elements will be inspired by the forest to bring as much nature as possible into the urban environment. All proposed surfaces will be permeable.

GARTENSTA PLUS s.r.o. was selected as the winner of the competitive bidding process. The estimated completion date for the project is August 2026. The Prague 2 City Hall estimates that the revitalization of the site will cost approximately 8.7 million crowns, excluding value added tax.
