The Troja embankment, from the renovated footbridge to the end of the Zoo grounds, is primarily an unmaintained, engineered riverbank with a narrow bike path. The requirement to create flood protection for the Zoo offers the potential to increase the flow capacity through this area, improve comfort for pedestrians and cyclists, and transform the uniform succession vegetation into a mosaic of habitats that would naturally exist in this location. The floodwall is, in fact, a separate issue; the design team is working on it to ensure it does not become a monofunctional engineering structure.

The project will involve modifications to the riverbanks, making them more accessible in the section from the Troja Footbridge to the castle. New staircases, terraces, and footpaths will be created here. The local natural rapids—unique in Prague—will thus be visible up close. The parking lot in front of the castle will be transformed into a pleasant space for visitors and the entrance to the castle gallery.
