The Wild Vltava Project involves a nature-based revitalization of the Vltava River along Císařský Island, including the widening of the river channel, the creation of new islets, and the construction of a channel through Císařský Island.

The main benefits of the project will be improved flow conditions during floods, enhanced floodplain landscape values, the restoration of natural river processes, and an expanded range of recreational and Education activities. The design will be tested using a mathematical and physical model.

Preliminary project preparation for the “Wild Vltava” project, ensuring a high-quality, multipurpose, proven, pre-negotiated, and feasible solution for the subsequent investment project. The main emphasis will be placed on refining the architectural, landscape, and water management solution with regard to optimizing compensatory flood control measures, improving the hydromorphological and ecological condition of the site, recreational use, property rights, maintenance and care, and the differing interests of the affected parties.
