On the way across the bridge, Hlávkův most, to Holešovice, you cannot miss the reconstructed building of the former Prague Electric Works. The multifunctional palace, built according to the design of architects Adolf Benš and Josef Kříž in 1935, was a demonstration of modern construction methods and technologies of its time. At the same time, the building is full of atypical and experimental elements and details. Its extensive reconstruction, combined with a partial conversion, can be described as one of the most challenging reconstructions of a heritage-protected building in Prague. How was the reconstruction carried out? And what changed in the building? Come on a guided tour with architect Marek Tichý, who, together with his studio TaK Architects, is behind the reconstruction.
