CAMP Tour: Cruise Under Railway Bridges

On the first Vltava cruise this year, we'll focus on structures that connect city districts and form the transportation backbone of the capital. Railway bridges in Prague, unlike road bridges, mostly don't bear names—they primarily serve as technical infrastructure. Yet they carry a surprisingly rich story about the transformation of transportation, landscape, and relationship to public space. What role do they play in urban development? And why is their significance growing since the approval of the Prague Railway Junction? Host Jiří Jaroš and experts from IPR Prague will introduce you to various stages of railway construction development and how the building of rail lines shaped Prague's appearance over the past 150+ years. The route will lead from Palackého náměstí to the Vyšehrad railway bridge, then under the Negrelli Viaduct and to the Holešovice railway bridge. We'll also discuss other bridges for pedestrians, cyclists, and trams.

Practical information:

  • Please arrive by 4:45 PM at the latest (the boat departs at 5:00 PM).
  • Start and end of cruise: Rašínovo nábřeží dock below the bridge Palackého most.
  • The tour will take approximately 3 hours.
  • By attending CAMP events, you consent to the publication of photographs and video recordings.
