After more than 16 years of preparation, the largest metropolitan plan change in Prague's history has been approved, enabling the creation of a new city district for up to 20,000 residents. Nearly 95% of the territory will be used for housing, complemented by kindergartens, an elementary school, parks, and a new tram line. This guided walk offers a unique opportunity to explore the usually inaccessible spaces of the functionalist Žižkov Freight Station building, now owned by the City of Prague, including the chance to climb onto its roof with views of the extensive area awaiting the fundamental transformation. The walk will also include visits to the building's side wings. The tour with urban planner Jitka Romanov from Prague City Hall will provide a comprehensive perspective on the transformation of this strategic brownfield and the future of this significant Prague location.
