United Stations of Europe
Faster, closer, more efficient. How will high-speed rail influence the Czech Republic's position within Europe? The planned railway network will connect the Czech Republic with key European capitals and open new opportunities for business, tourism and cultural activities. In the future, you'll be able to travel from Prague to Berlin or Vienna in two and a half hours, and high-speed rail will not only significantly reduce travel time but also fundamentally lower the carbon footprint.
The discussion evening will begin with a short lecture by French studio AREP, which has long-term experience in designing European transport hubs, including stations for TGV trains. In the Czech context, the studio collaborated with atelier monom and together they designed the Jihlava HSR Terminal, which will become one of the main transfer points of the future high-speed network. The subsequent debate will include Jon Worth, blogger, journalist, and independent activist who focuses on European rail transport, and Daniel Kajpr, theorist and enthusiastic user of Interrail and IN50.
