What does the city look like before and after its transformation? And what all has to happen in between? Over the past eight years, Bratislava has undergone a series of fundamental changes—from transforming streets into safer and more pleasant places for everyone, to finding a balance in transportation, to revitalizing squares that had been neglected for many years and creating high-quality public spaces. Every project has its own story. Sometimes it takes very little for things to change for the better. Other times, the journey is long and arduous. Slovak architect and Bratislava Mayor Matúš Vallo will present and launch his new book Before and After, in which many small stories with happy endings come together to form one big one—a better Bratislava.
