How would you behave if you were on a train that no one was driving? An emergency situation is caused by a locomotive engineer who makes an unscheduled stop between fields and gets off the train to solve a minor technical problem. Unfortunately, the train is left standing in a slight counter-slope and he loses the train. A very disparate group of people, brought together for a while by the train ride, now have one common goal – to survive this journey in good health. The comedy Emergency Situation is loosely inspired by the true story of a ‘runaway train’ that ran away from its driver with its passengers a few years ago in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Director Jiří Havelka's aim was not a faithful reconstruction of the case, but another entertaining dive into the world of completely normal people who find themselves in an emergency situation.
