From City to City: Brasília

A capital city that arose in the middle of nowhere to symbolize the country's new future. Brasília was built on a greenfield site in just three years thanks to the efforts of more than 70,000 workers. The layout resembles a bird in flight, the streets are straight as a ruler, and the squares are as large as airports.

With Adam Gebrian, we will take a virtual tour of this unique city, where dreams of equality, order, and modern life were to meet. Using Street View, we will visit the famous sunken cathedral, the parliament building with its contrasting domes and towers, the sprawling university campus, and the National Theater, which resembles a truncated pyramid. We will also take a look at one of the residential neighborhoods, designed to offer people a peaceful life in an otherwise grandly designed metropolis.
