From City to City: Rio de Janeiro

A city where historical and contemporary architecture blend with a tropical landscape full of mountains and ocean. In his next lecture, Adam Gebrian takes us to the vibrant Rio de Janeiro - a city of contrasts, rhythm and extraordinary buildings. Together, we will stop at the iconic mosaic walkway on Copacabana by landscape designer Robert Burle Marx, as well as Oscar Niemeyer's museum in Niterói, which hovers like a UFO over the ocean. We'll learn where the suspended facade was first used and visit the pyramid-shaped cathedral that can hold up to 5,000 people. Thanks to StreetView, we will have a walk full of discovery in Brazil's second largest city.
