Houses Full of Ideas

On the occasion of a new exhibition, we will return to a time when everything was changing rapidly and architects could try out lots of ideas. After 1989, completely new houses were built—some bold, colorful, and a little crazy—others calm and well thought out. At Archiplay, we will learn about buildings that have become famous, such as the Dancing House or the Golden Angel. But we will also stop at the lesser-known and more unusual ones. Some are welcoming to their surroundings, others mirror it or ignore it altogether. We will look at the materials, striking shapes, and decorations that appeared on buildings at that time. Why do some buildings want to be seen from afar, while others are inconspicuous? And what can architecture tell us about the era in which it was created?
