Based on the best-selling novel, Where the Crawdads Sing tells the story of an abandoned girl, Kya, who raised herself to adulthood in the dangerous marshlands of North Carolina. For years stories of the "Marsh Girl" spread through Barkley Cove, isolating the sharp and resilient Kya from her community. When two attractive young men from the city appear in Kya's life, a new, unfamiliar world opens up for her; but when one of them is found dead, the community doesn't hesitate to label her as the main suspect. As the case unfolds, the verdict as to what happened becomes increasingly unclear, threatening to reveal the many secrets that, until that time, were buried in the marsh.
Transformation / Vapors / Melanosis In collaboration with My Street Films, Transformation / Vapors / Melanosis will be screened before the feature film. Focusing on the abuse of natural resources, the essay takes water as its main subject and shows its forms and transformations in the industrial chain.
