A unique 24×4-meter projection surface will become a canvas for two audiovisual performances by Canadian artists who push the boundaries of dialogue between humans and technology. Baron Lanteigne will present hard data / soft bodies, a generative performance exploring the fragile interface between human memory and machine data storage. The artist's body and every movement become an equal part of a technological system in which the imperfection of improvisation meets the precision of the machine.
Montreal musician and audiovisual artist Mathieu Arsenault will perform under the pseudonym Seulement. His project Bricolage Architecture combines hand-made stop-motion animation with live modular synthesis and explores how the imperfection of the human voice and gesture transforms into a dialogue with the ideal of technological perfection.
The program was prepared by the Lunchmeat Festival in collaboration with the Montreal festival MUTEK.
