Muž, který sázel domy

When architect Kamil Mrva built his studio on his grandfather's land, the neighbors thought it was some kind of strange hayloft. Then, he started building such houses one after another. It has been twenty five years since his buildings started growing in the landscape below the Beskydy mountains - family houses, a supermarket or a fire station in the village of Trojanovice, a cable car station on the highest mountain of Beskydy, Radhošt'. His contemporary but humble and site-specific architecture stands all over the region. The director of the movie, Jiří Kout, takes us into the architect's children's room in a block of flats in Kopřivnice, into the houses and villas he built for his clients and to Pustevny. This 'Wenceslas Square' of Valašsko, however, annoys the architect a bit, as well as the petty circumstances and pitfalls of the local officials.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Karolína Vránková and Kamil Mrva.
