Buildings and Transportation

What demands do car parking and bicycle storage place on building layouts? How does this affect financial costs? And how do public transport, cars, cyclists, and pedestrians shape safety and quality of life in the vicinity of apartment buildings, schools, and offices? This year’s second lecture in the Rethink Architecture series will focus on how transport—and, by extension, means of transport—influence architecture. Speakers will present specific practical measures, from the choice of surfaces to principles that architects and designers should keep in mind. There will also be inspiring examples of solutions from abroad.

The event is held in cooperation with the Rethink Architecture Institute and under the auspices of the Czech Green Building Council and the Czech Chamber of Architects. The lecture is part of the lifelong education of CCA architects and is awarded 0.5 points.
