Rethink Architecture: Green concrete and bricks

Concrete and bricks are the basis of most buildings around the world, but their production has a significant impact on the environment, mainly due to the high consumption of energy and natural resources. However, thanks to advances in materials research, innovative technologies are now being developed that allow concrete to be recycled, and more environmentally friendly alternatives, such as hemp-blended concrete, to be used. This talk will also look at the use of mycelium - a fungal material - in the production of biodegradable and environmentally friendly building elements.
