Skin of Glass

Filmmaker Denise Zmekhol explores her father's masterpiece, the 1960s high-rise office building Wilton Paes de Almeida in São Paulo. Today, Roger Zmekhol's modernist project is slowly falling into disrepair, and through her exploration of the building, Denise learns about the harsh social inequalities of Brazil. Hundreds of homeless people occupy the tower block, and over the years, the iron-concrete structure, elegantly wrapped in a glass shroud, has been covered in graffiti along its entire height and length. By getting to know the building better, the director gradually comes to terms with her father's passing and the demise of his work.
