What texts can help us understand the current crises in architecture and urbanism? Since the protest movements of the 1960s, architectural theory has developed in close dialogue with continental philosophy and the social sciences. Individual presentations within the workshop will introduce the ideas of Henri Lefebvre, Manfred Tafuri, Kenneth Frampton, and representatives of the Frankfurt School. Historians and theorists of architecture will discuss their influence on the formation of a critical view of the city. The event is organized by the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences in cooperation with the VIPER gallery and Suture Press.
