Julius Shulman is described as "the world's most influential architectural photographer of all time". He defined the way we look at modernism. This documentary follows his life and career in sunny Southern California in the second half of the 20th century. The photographer discovers and captures California's optimism and energy, but most importantly, he immortalizes the works of architectural greats such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Richard Neutra, Mies van der Rohe and Frank Gehry. Shulman worked from the 1930s until his death in 2009; Visual Acoustics presents an intimate portrait of this photographic visionary and, in doing so, charts the evolution of modern architecture.
