Is it good and beneficial to build with wood in cities? How can modern wood architecture in residential and public buildings make urban environments more pleasant for people and improve life there? How does one live, work or learn in a modern wood building? German architect, Professor Felix Waechter from Waechter + Waechter Architekten BDA, discussed the growing global trend of building with wood, drawing from examples such as the wooden community center they designed in Neuwied, Germany. A short introductory presentation was given by architect Pavel Horák, who presented Czech modern wood architecture.
