About a bridge that has remained untouched since its opening, yet has withstood hundreds of metric tons during diagnostic tests. Another event in the series Prague’s Big Changes focused this time on the history, present, and—above all—the future of the Libeň Bridge and the surrounding area. The planned reconstruction of this architectural landmark involves not only the bridge and its characteristic arches, but also new bridge structures based on Janák’s original sketches and access ramps to Rohan Island, where a large new park will be created. Another interesting aspect of the renovation is that it is planned so that pedestrians and cyclists will be able to cross the bridge throughout the entire construction period.
