Can an old place be brought back to life? And how can we add something new to it without losing its story? This time, we’ll draw inspiration from the transformation of Prague Castle, where history and the present come together in an exemplary way. We’ll look at how architect Josip Plečnik redesigned the Castle 100 years ago and what changed after 1989, when the site opened to the public. We’ll also explore how individual buildings and the spaces between them are being sensitively developed today, and what renovations and projects are planned here. Together, we’ll reflect on how to sensitively adapt places with a rich history to today’s needs. We’ll play at being architects—we’ll draw, create, and design.
