One of Prague’s most significant squares has gained over 180 trees, a retention basin, and a playground. The surrounding greenery is now irrigated by rainwater from the roof of Plečnik’s church. How did the overall revitalization of Jiřího z Poděbrad Square proceed? How does this space—which regularly hosts farmers’ markets and cultural events—function today? Host Jiří Jaroš invited architect Pavla Melková to join the discussion at the first stop of CAMP Point, so you’ll have the chance to ask her right on site about how the transformation, designed by MCA atelier, unfolded. The project was finalized in June and is now undergoing a public stress test.
Stop by and see our gallery staff. They’ll use the Prague Tomorrow? map portal to show you what projects are in the works for the area. Which ones are already underway, and which ones have been completed in the neighborhood over the past few months?
Join the discussion right on site. At our cargo bike, together with moderator Jiří Jaroš, you’ll learn more about the project, its implementation, and the journey that shaped it. Architect Pavla Melková from the MCA studio has accepted our invitation.
Join us for a walk through the site itself to better understand the connections to the surrounding area and the individual details of the project. The CAMP Tour will be led by moderator Jiří Jaroš together with representatives from the MCA studio. To attend the tour, you need to register.
Would you like to learn more about the project? Which firms were involved? And who is behind the construction? Check it out in the app Prague Tomorrow?.
