Nusle Brewery

The former brewery complex has been transformed into a new urban district, opening up an area that was previously difficult to access to the public after many years. The Nusle Brewery connects historic buildings with new architecture, housing, a square, and walkways. How challenging is it to transform an industrial site into a vibrant part of the city? What has been preserved from the original brewery, and how was a balance struck between history and new construction? Moderator Jiří Jaroš will this time be joined by architect Vít Máslo from CMC ARCHITECTS, co-author of the new district’s concept, with whom he will discuss the transformation of the site as well as the broader context of Prague’s current development, such as the construction of Metro Line D.
