Did changes in ownership relations after 1989 make their mark on public space? And how important was heritage conservation at that time? The Myslbek, Euro, and Langhans palaces illustrate the approach to transforming the center of Prague in the 1990s. How did these buildings respond to the new economic and social conditions? A guided tour of the area around Wenceslas Square will focus on specific buildings from the first post-revolution decade. The walk with guide Lenka Hubáčková will offer an opportunity to look at 1990s architecture without simplistic judgments and in contexts that are still relevant to today’s debates about the city center.
The event is organized in cooperation with the Elpida Educational and Cultural Center.
