Copan

Carine Wallauer / Brazil, France / 2025 / 98 min. / Portuguese / English subtitles

A unique microcosm of urban life. In a building in São Paulo, Brazil, designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer, thousands of residents from various professions, generations, and social classes come together. Through their daily lives, the film captures how architecture shapes interpersonal relationships and the very way of living. This observational documentary, presented without narration, allows the rhythm of the building and individual personal stories to shine through. Copan thus emerges not only as an architectural icon, but as a living structure that reflects the dynamics of the contemporary city. The film raises questions about the sharing of space, neighborliness, and forms of collective living in the context of a modern metropolis.

The film will be introduced online by its director, Carine Wallauer.
