Prague’s tram network is undergoing a transformation—and so are the trams themselves. The latest Škoda ForCity Plus 52T model brings not only modern technology but also a new approach to passengers’ comfort and the aesthetics of public transportation. A special ride on the new tram will showcase how the city’s landscape is changing as seen from the tracks. The route will follow the renovated section on Wenceslas Square and continue through Karlín and Vysočany to Hloubětín, where we will pass the modernized depot equipped for the maintenance of low-floor trams. During the trip, we will focus on the connections between transportation infrastructure and urban development, including the planned lines in Žižkov and near the main train station. The tour will be hosted by Jiří Jaroš throughout the ride.
- We will depart at 14:00 from the Botanická zahrada stop (toward Karlovo náměstí).
- Please meet 15 minutes before the start of the program at the Botanická zahrada tram stop (toward Karlovo náměstí).
- The guided tour will last approximately 90 minutes; the ride begins and ends at the same stop.
- The temperature inside the tram adjusts automatically to the outside weather—we therefore recommend dressing in layers.
