As the reconstruction of the Prager's Cubes begins this summer, this time the camp will take place in the workshop spaces of the renovated H40 hall in the Holešovice Market Hall, Prague 7.
Behind the gates of the Holešovice Market Hall lies a city within a city. What secrets await us here? What can the statues at the entrance to the complex tell us about the past? At this year’s camp, we’ll explore how this former industrial complex in the heart of Holešovice is transforming and what it might look like in the future. We’ll become urban explorers: we’ll follow the traces of history, observe contemporary life, and discover how the market operates. We will also try out the roles of architects and designers—we’ll propose our own modifications to public spaces, street furniture, or play elements, and think about how to improve this place for its visitors. We’ll be drawing, taking photos, building models, and working in the field. We’ll create, discuss, play, and set out on expeditions around the neighborhood.
Our day camp is designed for all creative children aged 7–10 who are interested in architecture and the city, enjoy making things, and are eager to come up with new ideas. Children who can concentrate, enjoy drawing, and create three-dimensional works from a variety of materials. They should be ready to brainstorm, create, discuss, and also go on field trips. During the camp, children will work in groups, as a team, and independently. We’ll also find time for group games. The program will be led by our experienced instructors.
Please register your child only after talking together about the content of the program. We want the camp to be attended by children who are genuinely interested in the topic and excited to join us in the activities.
