How did the city develop and why does it look the way we know it today? We invite you to join us in discovering the city we live in. We will explore Prague from different angles. We will search, observe, discuss, design, and build.
In the second half of the course, we will draw inspiration from the current DEVADE exhibition and find out how history has influenced the appearance and functionality of the city. What new buildings began to be constructed in Prague in the 1990s? How has urban planning changed? How has the new era changed people's lives and the appearance of streets and buildings? What good and bad things from this period can we still see in the city today?
In the second half of the semester, we will focus on the planned reconstruction of the Prager Cubes, which house CAMP. We will learn about the work of the architect, who, in addition to our headquarters, is also the author of, for example, the New Stage of the National Theater and the New Building of the National Museum. We will explore the entire complex in Emauzy and together we will propose how to transform the buildings so that they serve all visitors and users well.
In the City in Your Hands playroom, children will try their hand at being architects, urban planners, landscape architects, or designers. The club is intended for children who think a lot, have a rich imagination, are able to concentrate, and enjoy drawing and creating.
