The breathtaking views of New York from luxurious private residences were meant to remain hidden to everyone but their owners. But Hungarian billionaire Gabriella, the alter ego of Hungarian artist Andi Schmied, decided to pretend to be interested in buying them. As a result, she got to go where others didn't. This resulted in the creation of the book Private Views: A High-Rise Panorama of Manhattan, which won awards like the Most Beautiful Czech Book of the Year 2020 (Nejkrásnější české knihy roku). How difficult was it to create a believable alter ego, and how did the individual visits go? Andi Schmied has already exhibited in the Czech Republic at MeetFactory and VI PER gallery; this time, she will visit CAMP as part of the Urban Talks series.
