Connected Europe: United Stations of Europe

Faster, closer, more efficient. How will high-speed rail (HSR) affect the Czech Republic's position within Europe? The planned rail network will connect the Czech Republic with key European cities and open up new opportunities for business, tourism and cultural activities. In the future, you will be able to get from Prague to Berlin or Vienna in two and a half hours, and HSR will not only significantly reduce travel time but also substantially reduce the carbon footprint.

The discussion evening will begin with a short lecture by the French studio AREP, which has many years of experience in designing European transport hubs, including stations for TGV trains. In the Czech Republic, the studio collaborated with the monom studio to design the Jihlava VRT Terminal, which will become one of the main transfer points of the future high-speed network. The subsequent debate will feature Jon Worth, a blogger, journalist and independent activist who focuses on European rail transport, and Daniel Kajpr, a theorist and enthusiastic user of Interrail and IN50.

The following guests have accepted the invitation to participate in the discussion:

  • Raphaël Ménard / engineer and architect, CEO of AREP
  • Jon Worth / blogger, journalist and independent activist, author of the #CrossBorderRail project
  • Daniel Kajpr / sustainable transport theorist, active user of Interrail and IN50

Hosted by:
Jiří Jaroš

The event will be held in English and interpreted into Czech.
