Magdalena Havlová & Miroslav Šik: Our House

What was and is the architecture of Czech rental housing, and what could it become? How do we write about architecture? And can a PhD in architecture help drive change? These are just some of the questions architect Magdalena Havlová explores in her new book Náš Dům. Dostupná architektura bydlení (Our House. Affordable Housing Architecture), which she will present and launch in a public discussion with architect Miroslav Šik. This personal yet practical perspective on the typologies of cooperative and urban apartment buildings offers insight into the mindset of architects through both text and image. It reflects on the historical and current context and proposes ways to restore quality and dignity to rental housing.

The event is organized in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
