Cities around the world are struggling with the various impacts of the environmental crisis. Global warming, depleting water resources, pollution, and the extinction of animal species are among the challenges they have to face. Adapting cities to climate change is challenging, but a new book published in the autumn, The Flexible City, presents a toolkit for achieving a circular urban economy. It is a guide for all those working to ensure a sustainable future for European cities—from politicians to architects to residents. One of the book's authors, architect Tom Bergevoet, will be at CAMP to present it. Together, we will address how to include the public in the process of climate adaptation and how to be mindful of the local differences in cities.
